Coach Ramon Menezes lamented Brazil’s setback against Senegal. After the victory over Guinea on Saturday (17), the Brazilian team struggled in search of victory, this time over the current African champions, but was defeated by 4-2, this Tuesday (20), at Estádio José Alvalade, in Lisbon, Portugal.
“It was not what we expected. We worked hard during the week, you can see how the work was carried out. A very difficult game, against a team that did very well in the World Cup. We knew all the difficulties we were going to face. Nonetheless, we have a great lesson here,” he said.

Brazil opened the scoring with Paquetá, 10 minutes into the first half, but suffered a comeback in the second half. Marquinhos scored in the second half for Brazil after an own goal. Ramon explained that taking advantage of the chances created made the difference in the score of the match.
“We circulated the ball a lot, but with little definition in the last third of the field. In the chance they had, Mané, very happy, managed to score the third goal. They managed to be more effective. In the opportunities they had, they managed to score,” he said.
This was the last match of the Brazilian team before the start of the World Cup qualifiers in September.
