Neymar reported to the Brazilian national team on Tuesday in Cuiabá, for the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Venezuela and Uruguay. Following the birth of his daughter Mavie last week, Neymar was released by his club Al Hilal to attend the birth. He missed his team’s match on Saturday against Al Akhdoud in the Saudi championship.

With the arrival of Neymar, the Brazilian squad is now complete. On Monday, 21 players had already traveled to the state of Mato Grosso. Only Neymar and PSG defender Marquinhos were missing, but they both joined the squad on Tuesday morning. Upon his arrival in Cuiabá, Neymar commented on the extreme heat in the capital of Mato Grosso.

Although accustomed to the high temperatures in Saudi Arabia, he admitted that the Brazilian climate was still difficult to endure.

On a sporting level, Neymar once again praised the qualities of coach Fernando Diniz. According to him, the coach offers great tactical freedom to the players and gives them his confidence, two aspects essential to his proper functioning on the field. Neymar missed the first team training in Brazil, which was a session in the gym.

Fernando Diniz will lead two more sessions before facing Venezuela on Thursday evening. Despite his late arrival in the group, Neymar hopes to be able to guide his selection to two new victories in the qualifiers.
