Vasco da Gama formalized yesterday the arrival of Gary Medel, the 35-year-old Chilean midfielder with 156 caps. After lengthy discussions, the club managed to finalize the details with the Chilean international, who is expected to land in Rio de Janeiro soon.
The announcement was made exclusively by Venê Casagrande, a renowned journalist from the Brazilian newspaper “O Dia”.

An arrival scheduled for July 03
According to the information available, Vasco has already sent the necessary documents for Medel to sign the contract. The latter will sign with the Brazilian club for a period of 18 months, i.e. until December 2024.
Negotiations between the club and the player lasted several weeks, but an agreement was finally concluded at the end of June. The Chilean player is expected to be available to play by July 3, when the transfer window is officially open.
Medel, who has evolved in prestigious clubs such as Boca Juniors, Inter Milan and Besiktas, among others, is thus preparing to live his first experience on Brazilian soil.
