Press: Barcelona will demand 70 million euros from interested parties for Raphinha in January

After a disappointing stint under Barcelona colors, Raphinha could already leave the club. Arriving in 2022 from Leeds for 58 million euros, the Brazilian international has not completely convinced since the start of the season. Little used by Xavi, the 26-year-old player could be sold during the winter transfer window in order to replenish the coffers of the Catalan club, still in great financial difficulty.

According to information from FootballTransfers, Barça has set Raphinha’s starting price at 70 million euros. An amount revised downwards compared to the initial claims of the club which demanded nearly 100 million during the summer transfer window. This sum now seems more reasonable for the Brazilian’s courtiers, particularly in view of the January transfer window. Although Barça favors a departure in the winter, a transfer to the summer seems more likely.

The contenders for the succession of Raphinha

Raphinha wishes to stay in Catalonia for the moment but several teams are interested in the idea of welcoming him. Chelsea, who were close to recruiting him before he chose Barça, could try their luck again. Newcastle and Saudi clubs are also monitoring his situation. In England, Arsenal corresponds to the profile sought to replace a possible departure of Gabriel Jesus. The Gunners had already tried to recruit him when he played at Leeds.

With the presence of his compatriots Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel, Raphinha could be seduced by the London project. However, a departure in January seems complicated as the player seems to be giving priority to Barcelona for the moment. A transfer next summer seems to be the most likely avenue to see him leave Catalonia and the Blaugranas hope to recover the 70 million euros set to find a replacement.
