Newcastle in Brazilian football?
- During the event, Amanda Staveley highlighted Newcastle’s interest in adopting this model, even revealing a possible foray into the Brazilian market.
- As an owner of a percentage of the English team, the businesswoman believes that the multi-club structure could bring benefits, especially in player development.
- Acquiring a Brazilian team, for example, is not ruled out.
What did the businesswoman say?
Although still in the early stages, the Brazilian market emerges as one of the possible targets for Newcastle in this endeavor. Amanda emphasized that the English club is exploring various opportunities worldwide, including countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, and notably Brazil.
“I think we are very interested in a multi-club model. We look at all markets, and getting players for our youth teams in a multi-club model would be very useful to allow us to buy and have new players,” she stated.
“I am still a big fan of the multi-club model. Many other competitors and friends in the Premier League have multi-club relationships, but this has to be considered as a whole. We look at Belgium, we look at many European markets, we look at Asia, Australia, we look at Brazil, pretty much everything,” Amanda added.
