After their debut in the final quadrangular of the Pre-Olympic, in which they were beaten 1-0 by Paraguay, the Brazilian team is looking at the next two opponents and reinforcing the statement that qualifying for the Paris Games depends solely on their own efforts. If they beat Venezuela, on Thursday (8), and Argentina, on Sunday (11), the team will guarantee a place in the Olympics.

For the players, the stumble against Paraguay is now far away and the focus is now on the confrontation with the Venezuelans. Confidence remains high.

“We have all the conditions to seek this position. We depend on ourselves and we are going with everything we can for the game against Venezuela. We know that they are a difficult opponent, even more so at home, and that they are having a great campaign in the competition. But we believe in our reaction”, said midfielder Alexsander.

Strikers Marquinhos and John Kennedy watched part of the game between Venezuela and Argentina on TV, on Monday night (8), and really enjoyed the draw (2-2) achieved by the home team in stoppage time. This allows Brazil to turn the table around by beating Venezuela.

“Optimism always. Everyone here is focused and we are going after these three points”, said Marquinhos, who came on during the match against Paraguay.

For now, Paraguay leads the quadrangular with 3 points, followed by Venezuela and Argentina, with 1, and Brazil, which has not yet scored. The two best classified in this phase qualify for the Paris Olympics.
