Brazilian defender Eduardo Bauermann has completed his move to Alanyaspor in Turkey, ending his contract with Santos. This move comes as the player is involved in an investigation related to a betting scheme, known as “Maximum Penalty” (Penalidade Máxima).
Santos, who had received an offer from Alanyaspor, agreed to release Bauermann without immediate compensation, given the impossibility of selling him or reinstating him in the team. The Brazilian defender is currently suspended for 12 games by the STJD (Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva).

Bribe for a yellow card
Public Ministry investigations reveal that Eduardo Bauermann allegedly accepted a bribe of R$50,000 to receive a yellow card in a game against Avaí. However, he reportedly failed to keep his promise and should have been sent off in the following game against Botafogo in the Brazilian league.
The Brazilian club should soon formalize the transfer to Alanyaspor in Turkey. In the meantime, the player is provisionally dismissed by Santos, pending the resolution of his legal case.
