Coach Pia Sundhage accused the blow and did not hide her disappointment at Brazil’s early farewell to the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The 0-0 draw with Jamaica, this Wednesday (2), in Melbourne, was not enough to classify the national team.
“Is very sad. We had a lot of expectations. We started the Cup well (with the 4-0 defeat of Panama), but here we are”, said the coach.

Pia Sundhage praised the performance of the Jamaicans, who mounted a strong boom and held the tie.
“They played well and we couldn’t change that situation.”
Asked about what she could expect from the future of women’s football in Brazil, Pia avoided the conversation and commented that the most important thing at the moment was to have her feet on the ground for a cold analysis of what Brazil’s participation in the World Cup was like.
“We have to face the results.”
