Three days before the debut of the Brazilian team at the Women’s World Cup, coach Pia Sundhage presents a retrospective that may leave Canarinho fans a little more confident for the match against Panama. Ahead of the national team in the Copa America and the Olympic Games, the Swede has two victories in her debuts.
In Tokyo, Brazil thrashed China 5-0 in the first round, in Group F, at Estádio de Miyagi. On the occasion, Marta (twice), Debinha, Andressa Alves and Bia Zaneratto scored the goals for the team.

In the South American competition, another rout came for the Guerreiras do Brasil. The score was 4-0 over Argentina, in a game played at the Estádio Centenário, in the city of Armênia, Colombia. The scorers were Adriana (twice), Bia Zaneratto and Debinha, in the match that started the Brazilian journey towards the undefeated title of the Copa América.
With the proximity of the first game, Angelina praised the preparation of the team led by Pia Sundhage before the duel.
“We’ve been preparing for a while with training. Now is the time to play, to make it happen. I think everyone is confident. The cast is very well prepared, has a lot of quality, has a lot of talent here. We are very confident, regardless of who will start the game,” she praised.
For the World Cup, the Brazilian team takes the field this Monday (24th), at 8 am (Brasília time), against the Panamanian team, at the Hindmarsh stadium, in Adelaide, Australia. Brazil is in Group F, alongside France, Jamaica and Panama.
