Manchester City reclaimed the Premier League lead with a convincing 3-0 home win over West Ham. Pep Guardiola’s men had temporarily slipped to second place after Arsenal’s win over Chelsea the day before, but they quickly regained the advantage.
With goals from Nathan Aké, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, the Citizens reached 79 points after 33 rounds. Guardiola has lined up a starting lineup with a few changes, including the exit of Ederson.

Pep Guardiola wanted to give Ederson a rest
Stefan Ortega was tasked with defending City’s goal which surprised several people. However, the coach explained that the Brazilian goalkeeper deserved a breather: “He needs to rest a bit. There are a lot of games, so mentally taking a rest is a good thing. We have confidence in Stefan and we want to involve everyone”.
Ederson is enjoying a fantastic season in the Manchester City cages, with 10 clean sheets and 40 saves in 32 Premier League appearances. In the Champions League, his numbers are even better, with just three goals conceded in eight games.
