The deal was finalized and made official on March 11 with a contract signed until 2025.
In an exclusive interview with BTV, the Brazilian midfielder revealed how he feels joining his new club.
"It’s a dream come true. I was very anxious to be able to be here. I was here once and I was in love with the structure and the club. During this time in Brazil, I followed Benfica, I was rooting for. It was always a dream to play in Europe and in a great team like Benfica. I want to work more and more to make my story here"
Pre-season, medical examinations and physical evaluations will begin this weekend while training will commence on Monday until the new head coach Jorge Jesus begins supervision.
The Brazilian said how he feels working under his new coach in his new team.
" I’m looking forward to working with Jorge Jesus , for sure. All of us Brazilians know the great work he did [at Flamengo]. Great players have evolved a lot with him, and I want that too, to be able to work with him and evolve. The certainty that it will be very successful, because he is a great coach in a great team"
Pedrinho also had some words for his fans. He promised his work ethics, commitment and total effort to make his team great and competitive.
"Benfica fans can expect a lot of joy from me, a lot of desire to play, technical quality. Whatever I can do to help Benfica, I will do it. I will do my best to be able to conquer, score goals, assists and achieve many titles ", he assured.
