Last Thursday (7), the Gigante da Colina qualified for the third round of the Copa do Brasil, eliminating Água Santa.
Payet, in an interview with L’Équipe, a French newspaper, mentioned that he can already imagine Vasco’s fans cheering for the team in a title match:
“I loved Maracanã, for its history and its appearance. I also like São Januário, it’s a real cauldron. It reminds me of West Ham’s, where no one came to win at our home. If our fans are like this when we are fighting to climb up, I can’t imagine if we were playing in a Copa do Brasil final. It must be crazy.”
