Pan-American: Brazilian National Team holds first training session in Viña del Mar

The Brazilian National Team held its first training session this Thursday afternoon (19) in Viña del Mar, Chile, Brazil’s base for the Pan American Games. The delegation arrived in the host country of the competition on Wednesday night (18).

Coach Ramon Menezes led an activity that aimed to evolve the team’s attacking movements, which debuts next Monday (23), at 2 pm, against the United States, in Valparaíso.

In its 12th participation in the Pan American Games, Amarelinha is looking for its fifth gold medal. In Brazil’s journey through the first phase, the team will still face Colombia on the 26th, a Thursday, at 4pm, in Viña del Mar, and Honduras, on the 29th, a Sunday, at 7pm, in Sausalito.

Igor Jesus celebrates his chance

The end of the year for Igor has been full of joy. In addition to being called up to represent Brazil, the Flamengo athlete became champion of the Brasileirão U20. And now the midfielder aims to win the gold medal at the Pan American Games.

“I hope to have a good Pan, help the team with whatever they need, to have a good campaign and pursue our objective, which is to be champion,” he said.

Igor also thanked the group for their welcome upon his arrival and that of other newcomers to the team.

“(It’s been) very peaceful. The guys embraced me perfectly, they made us feel comfortable, the whole committee did too”, he stated.
