The Libertadores Women’s final will feature a 100% Brazilian duel. On Tuesday night (17), Palmeiras, current champions of the competition, stamped their passport to the next stage after their 3-1 victory against one of the biggest clubs in Colombia, Atlético Nacional.

This is the second time in the history of the competition that two Brazilian clubs have faced each other in search of the title. In 2019, Corinthians and Ferroviária played a great duel, in which Brabas came out on top, beating Guerreiras Grenás 2-0.

Now, the Alviverde team awaits the result of the clash between Internacional and Corinthians, which takes place this Wednesday, at 11:30 pm, at the Pascual Guerrero Stadium, in Cali (COL).

The game

In search of their second title, the Palestrinas entered the field determined to guarantee their place in another final of the competition. Still in the first half, Bia Zaneratto converted the penalty conceded by Laís Estevam, opening the scoring for Verdão. In the 40th minute, Amanda Gutierres increased the lead with a great goal that hit the crossbar and went in.

In the second stage, Palmeiras reduced the pressure. However, in the 23rd minute, Flávia Mota made a cross for Amanda Gutierres to head home. Nine minutes later, Montoya scored for Atlético Nacional, but it wasn’t enough to stop the São Paulo team from winning.
