Several European teams seem to be interested in Raphael Veiga, but they may not get what they want yet. According to Goal, Palmeiras are not interested in selling the player as of now. As a matter of fact, the club is believed to have turned down potential bids of nearly €15 million for the Brazilian midfielder.

Palmeiras president Leila Pereira reportedly expects Veiga to stay for a few more years, and hopefully, see out his contract, which expires in December 2026. A group of Premier League teams, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham and Wolverhampton have apparently enquired about his situation, but without making any offer.

Palmeiras cannot afford to lose Veiga right now

Veiga has been playing at a high level this season, having recorded 11 goals and nine assists in 29 appearances. He plays a pivotal role in Abel Ferreira’s team, and this is not the right moment for the club to let him go. Not only because there’s still a long way to go in the Brasileirao and the Libertadores, but also because it could spark huge backlash from fans.

Palmeiras supporters have already protested against Leila Pereira for the club’s little activity in the last transfer window, while she spent money on other stuff like purchasing a plane. Selling Veiga, one of the team’s best players, would only anger an already unhappy fanbase in a critical moment of the season.
