Palmeiras beat São Paulo 5-0, this Wednesday (25), at Allianz Parque, and equaled their biggest defeat in history in classics against the rival tricolor – the other 5-0 happened in 1965, at the stadium of Pacaembu, for the Rio-São Paulo Tournament.

For the Brazilian Championship alone, this was the most elastic score in the history of Choque-Rei (the old record also belonged to Verdão: 4-0 on two occasions – 1992 and 2015). With the result, Alviverde reached 50 points in the current edition of the national tournament.

Verdão continues to hold the record for victories in duels between the four major São Paulo clubs throughout history: there are 401 positive results, one more than Corinthians, with 400, while São Paulo, third placed, records 351 triumphs, and Santos has 329.

In this Brasileirão, Palmeiras has the best attack (47 goals, followed by Botafogo, with 45) and the third best defense (24 goals conceded, behind Botafogo, with 18, and Atlético-MG, with 23).
