Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar was left in tears after the full-time whistle at Estadio da Luz as it marked the team’s defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League final. The 28-year-old was visibly in tears and even had to be consoled by a few teammates and even Bayern Munich players after the game.
The Brazilian superstar was extremely influential en route to the final, directly contributing to seven goals in as many matches,
but was unable to step up when it mattered the most.
PSG came closest than ever before in their history in getting a taste of European glory last season.
It was also the closest that Neymar had come to winning the most prestigious club competition ever since winning it in 2015 with FC Barcelona.
The 28-year old’s spell at the French capital has largely been plagued with injuries until recently, and he even reportedly tried to make his way back to Barcelona last summer.

However, Neymar has now put any rumors regarding his PSG exit to bed as he desires to become a club legend.
“I am staying at PSG next season,” he said during an interview with PSG Le Mag. “I remain and with the ambition to return to the final of the Champions League, this time to win it.
“I like this idea of doing everything to leave my name in the history books of my club.”
Neymar remains geared for glory and will no doubt aim to take his side all the way and perhaps lift the Champions League next term.
