On forced rest since his ankle injury which occurred on February 19 at the Parc des Princes during the Ligue 1 match between the club from the French capital and Lille (4-3), and operated on March 11, Neymar, currently recovering in Brazil, said he still had in mind a return to the fold, at Santos FC, the club where he revealed himself to the world.

This Thursday (20), Neymar attended the match between Santos and Audax Italiano (0-0) organized on the sidelines of the second day of the group stage of the South American Cup. Interviewed by Globo Esporte, he spoke about the possibility of returning to Pelé’s club one day. “One day I will come back, I will come back soon,” he said.

The man with 124 caps with Brazil (77 goals), in the detour of a photo taken with the club shirt of futsal legend, Falcao, added: “It’s so good to come back home. I feel at home here, I’m so happy to be back here ten years later. I came here to support Santos and receive affection from the fans. It is the club that gave me everything, that opened doors for me and my family, that revealed me to the world. If I dream of it (to play again for Santos), imagine them (the supporters,)”, he concluded.

Neymar (18 goals and 17 assists with PSG this year), who recently announced becoming a dad for the second time, is 31, still linked with Paris-Saint-Germain until 2025. Which means that if he completes his contract, and joins Santos FC at the end of it, he would be 33 at the time.

As a reminder, Neymar had spent a period of 4 years at Santos FC between 2009 and 2013. During this period, the number 10 of the Seleção had notably won the Copa Libertadores in 2011, a title that the club has not won since 1963.
