Kylian Mbappe and his Brazilian teammate Neymar dazzled in the game against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter finals first leg on Wednesday.
Mbappe scored twice with Neymar making two assists in the space of 25 minutes as Paris Saint Germain won 3-2 at the Allianz Arena. Another Brazilian in Marquinhos also impressed on the evening as Pochettino’s men put one foot in the semi-finals.
Mbappe’s goal rounded off the scoring in the 68th minute after strikes from Marquinhos, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Thomas Muller made the score line 2-2.
PSG went ahead three minutes into the game with a counter attack finished off excellently by Mbappe after Neymar placed the ball into the path of the forward.
Few minutes later, the visitors doubled their lead, but the goal was scrubbed off for Mbappe being offside.
PSG went two nil up after another brilliant play from Neymar, who assisted Marquinhos in the process, and adding to the misery of the host even further. It was the eighth assist for the 29-year-old in all competitions this season.
Choupo-Moting pulled one back for the host in the 37th minute, before Thomas Muller headed in and tied the game in the 60th minutes after a commanding display in the game.
Mbappe wasn’t finished in the game and put the French Champions back in the lead from a half chance after another counter-attack, getting his team the much-needed win and away goal advantage to put them through into the semi-finals.
The deciding Leg will be played in Paris next week, and the winner will face either Manchester City or Dortmund in the Semi Finals.
