Goalkeeper Tiago Volpi had his days while playing at São Paulo. At 32 years of age, the Brazilian born in Santa Catarina appears to have found an interest in scoring goals, such as the legendary Rogério Ceni.
Last Saturday (8), he scored his 5th goal for Toluca, in a 2-0 win against Cruz Azul in the Liga MX. Four of his five goals happened in the last eight games of the Mexican team. All of them were in kicks from the penalty spot.

How it all started?
The first goal by Volpi at Toluca was in October last year, at the last minute, guaranteeing a 4-3 victory over Santos Laguna.
The other four goals were made this year. Volpi scored in a 2-1 win over Puebla, a 1-1 draw with Juárez and a 3-0 draw against Necaxa, all for the past season. Now, he left his in the second round of the national league, reaching four goals in Toluca’s last eight matches.
A bit far from Ceni
Despite the goalscoring interest from Volpi, he is yet very far from Rogério Ceni. The legendary São Paulo goalkeeper has 131 to his name, the most by anyone in this position, and was also a great free-kick tacker.
