Netflix releases the trailer for the series ‘Senna’, inspired by the life of the Formula 1 legend

On this day thirty years ago, Ayrton Senna tragically passed away in an accident during the San Marino Grand Prix in Imola, Italy. Considered by many as the greatest driver in Formula 1 history, the Brazilian left an indelible mark in his country and in the entire sport.

On Tuesday, Netflix launched the official trailer for a miniseries based on his incredible life titled ‘Senna’. While there’s no confirmed release date yet, the streaming company claimed it will be out later this year.

With a short trailer of just two minutes, Netflix gives us a first look at Gabriel Leone’s performance as Ayrton Senna, showing him in a Honda team vehicle about to face a race at the Brazilian GP in 1991.

During the race, small fragments of memories from Ayrton Senna’s life can be seen, hinting that it will be a series that will not only emphasize his life on the track but also off of it.

What do we know about the Netflix series ‘Senna’?

The official Netflix Brazil account revealed several details about this series, which will be released at some point in 2024.

It will be a series of only six episodes, presumably with a duration of 30-50 minutes each, the standard in Netflix productions. The series will explore his life story, achievements, personality, and personal relationships.

The cast will not only consist of Brazilian actors but will also include several international actors who will portray some drivers and personalities of the time.
