Endrick is just 18 years old and hasn’t even made his official debut with Real Madrid yet. However, the Brazilian is already generating buzz on social media, not only for his potential and rapid rise to fame but also for his intriguing football references.

The former Palmeiras star recently raised eyebrows by naming English legend Bobby Charlton as one of his idols alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. He reaffirmed this choice when asked to name his top five favorite footballers.

Only one Brazilian made the cut: Vinicius Junior, who is now his teammate at the Santiago Bernabéu. The others? Cristiano Ronaldo, Ferenc Puskás, Jude Bellingham, and the aforementioned Charlton.

Endrick had already expressed admiration for the Portuguese star during his first press conference as a Real Madrid player, but the inclusion of Puskás and Charlton is striking given that they played in a different era.

It’s also surprising that he named Bellingham and Vinicius, who, despite being current stars, still have many chapters left to write in their careers.

In Brazil, however, the biggest shock was his omission of national legends such as Pelé, Neymar, Ronaldo, or Ronaldinho.

Opinions are always personal, and Endrick shouldn’t be judged for his preferences, as his top five doesn’t mean he doesn’t admire his country’s legends. Who knows, maybe when it’s all said and done, he’ll join their ranks. For now, he’s very young and a promising talent that creates expectations not only Madrid but also in Brazil.
