Brazilian Championship Serie A
Atlético-MG were the national football elite’s great champion. Minas Gerais won the bi-championship for the first time in 50 years, having last done so in 1971, and qualified for the Copa Libertadores for the following year. The main division was held between May 29th and December 9th.

- Relegated to Serie B: Grêmio, Bahia, Sport and Chapecoense.
Brazilian Championship Series B
Athletico-PR will also feature in the Libertadores next year after winning the 2021 Copa Sudamericana. The Brazilian cup final will be between Galo and Hurricane, after Palmeiras won the 2021 edition of “Liberta”. Galo was in the G6 of the Brazilian Nationals, while the Hurricane won the “Sula,” leaving two more spots open for the continent’s biggest competition, bringing the total number of teams from Brasileiro to eight.
Botafogo won the second division of Brasileiro for the second time in club history, repeating their 2015 triumph and earning promotion to the first division. The tournament was held between May 28th and November 28th.

Brazilian Championship Series C
After winning the competition for the second time, Ituano earned promotion to the Brasileiro’s second division. The team from Sao Paulo had previously won the competition in 2003. The competition took place from May 29 to November 20.

Brazilian Championship Series D
For the first time, Aparecidense was crowned champion of Brazil’s fourth division. Because all of the competitors, even those from Serie C, were picked based on their performance in state tournaments around Brazil in the first half of 2022, there was no relegation in the league. The competition took place between May 26 and November 13.
