Meet Lorena
Lorena is the undisputed starter for the Brazilian women’s team in the 2024 Olympics and has been a standout performer for Brazil in the tournament.
Against France, she saved a penalty when the match was tied 0-0 in the first half.
Earlier, in the second round of the group stage against Japan, Lorena was also crucial, saving another penalty. However, her efforts could not prevent Brazil’s 2-1 defeat.
At 27 years old, Lorena has been a goalkeeper for Grêmio since 2020 and has recovered from an injury to her left knee’s anterior cruciate ligament, which kept her out of the 2023 World Cup.
Throughout her career, she has also played for Sport, Centro Olímpico, and Bangu. Her professional career began in 2011.
