“It was a game of grit, of contesting every play, we know that South American football is very physically demanding. It is always a great joy (to score a goal), we know that it represents an entire country and it was a huge happiness,” said the athlete, who also highlighted the strong mentality of the team after conceding the equalizer.

“The whole team was focused and showed a lot of willpower and resilience. When we conceded the equalizing goal, we managed to regroup and found a goal to secure the victory,” he added.
In 2023, the 22-year-old player established himself as one of the main names at Internacional. Last season, he played 48 games, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists. Focused on the Pre-Olympics, Maurício emphasized the importance of being able to help the team.
“I think the most important thing was the victory, regardless of scoring a goal or providing an assist, I think what matters is giving my all for the team to come out victorious.”
