They clawed their way back from goal down to claim a triumphant victory, with Matheus Cunha"s goal serving as the turning point. Cunha couldn"t conceal his elation. He stressed the immense value of securing three vital points against Bournemouth, recognizing that these points had placed his team in a more favorable position. In his words,
"I’m so happy about the victory. It was a big game today because we know in our situation we need to keep winning. These three points against Bournemouth are very important for us and put us in a good situation. We keep going every single game. I hope we can keep together, and the victories keep coming.
The second half saw Wolves adopt a more aggressive approach, a transformation that was deeply rooted in their halftime discussions. Cunha admitted that they had made errors during the first half.
"We talked a lot in the [changing] room. I think we did some mistakes in the first half, and we had opportunities. Second half, sure, the red card helped us, and I think we were more prepared to take the chances. Sometimes you need a little bit more to change the game and I think we did it today and I’m so happy.
"We had the capacity to change the game and we believe in the group, every single player, the staff, the coach, this is the most important thing for us. The group is together, to do something like that and change the game."
Even though Bournemouth was grappling with their own struggles, Cunha underlined the importance of the hard-fought win, especially as the second goal arrived in the closing minutes of the game. He took a moment to praise his teammate, Neto, whose assist for his goal played a pivotal role in their victory.
