After the 4-0 victory of the Brazilian Women’s National Team over Chile at the Arena BRB Mané Garrincha, this Sunday (2), Marta celebrated being called up for her sixth World Cup and made a point of highlighting the help of others for her individual success.
“It means a lot. It’s the work of a lifetime, it’s how much we dedicate ourselves to keeping ourselves at a high level. Thank God, I have people around me who help me a lot, fantastic teammates, both here in the national team and at my club. I’m very happy to go to the sixth World Cup. I would never achieve this alone, because it’s something surreal, it’s just happiness,” she celebrated.

Called up for the 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019 World Cups, Marta observes the potential of the generation called by Pia Sundhage for the 2023 Women’s World Cup and demonstrates confidence in each of the athletes.
“The greatest happiness for me is to see that, regardless of whether I’m on the field or not, there will be athletes who will represent our country well with a lot of talent, with a lot of love and affection,” she envisioned.
The Brazilian Women’s National Team leaves this Monday (3) for Australia, in search of the unprecedented title of the World Cup. The arrival of the delegation in Brisbane is scheduled for 18:35 (local time) on July 4th, from where they will travel by bus to Gold Coast, where coach Pia Sundhage will lead the preparation for the World Cup.
