The coach of the Brazilian Women’s National Team, Arthur Elias, announced this Friday (1st) the list of 30 athletes called-up for a training period between September 18th and 26th, at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis.

Minutes earlier, the Corinthians coach was announced as the new coach of the Brazilian National Team. At Granja, he will be assisted by former player Rosana Augusto, who was introduced this Friday to lead the Under-20 team.

The new Canarinho coach explained why he chose to call up 30 athletes for his first period of preparation at the head of the Brazilian Women’s National Team.

“We’re going to try strong opponents for the next FIFA dates. I’m pleased to have the players training, it’s a big initial group and we’re going to need more training time”, declared Arthur.

The list includes the presence of Marta and Cristiane, forwards who made history with Amarelinha in World Cups, Olympics and Pan American Games.

“We don’t even need to comment on their history (Marta and Cristiane). I see that they still have a lot to contribute to the selection. Cris’s return is well deserved, for what she did last year in terms of performance, the doors selection will always be open regardless of age”, he said.
