In defense, he is joined by players who are experiencing their first moments with Amarelinha, such as full-backs Yan Couto and Carlos Augusto and defender Adryelson. Despite his CV in clubs and the national team, Marquinhos states that he is not satisfied with the position he has achieved and seeks to help newcomers.
“Nobody has a permanent seat in the National Team, very competitive, new generation with Gabriel Magalhães, (Éder) Militão and Bremer. We have to always do our best to stay here. I’ve been trying to help my teammates, many have helped me here. Experience brings you good things, things that I didn’t see, technically and tactically,” he explained.
This Tuesday, at 9pm (Brasília time), the Brazilian team returns to the field against Uruguay, at the Centenário Stadium, in Montevideo (URU), for the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. And the defender praised the stage of the match, which he hopes will be balanced.
“The stadium is part of the history of football, I’ve been here a few times with the national team, the history of football lives here. We know the strength of the Uruguayan team in this field and we are aware of the difficulty, we have to do our best. The result is very important for us,” he said.
