The story of Thiago Silva’s possible return to Fluminense has recently added a new chapter, as the president of Fluminense, Mário Bittencourt, spoke at length about the possibility of seeing the veteran defender wearing the tricolor shirt again in a near future.
All this, in the midst of rumors that have been running for a couple of weeks now and that, now more than ever, have ceased to be rumors and have become a palpable reality: Fluminense will make a move to try to incorporate Thiago Silva, being the great chosen to reinforce the central defense of the Diniz project in 2024.

Mário Bittencourt confirms Fluminense’s interest in signing Thiago Silva next year
This has been confirmed by Bittencourt himself speaking on Charla Podcast, a program in which he confirmed that his desire to see Thiago Silva again in the Brasileirão is a dream that he hopes to fulfill:
“Everyone knows that I have tried it before and I will continue trying (signing Thiago Silva). He is a great fan of the tricolor and a high-performance athlete. We really want him to come here next year (…). I want to bring him and I will do everything possible to bring Thiago, but it will also depend on whether he wants to come.”
The president also confirmed that he has not yet sent a formal offer to the footballer whose contract ends in the summer of 2024 with Chelsea, but he did assure that there are constant conversations with the footballer to try to finalize the deal: “I have not sent it (the proposal). We always talk, but he was direct with me: President, when I can go (to Fluminense), you send the proposal.”
Mário Bittencourt spoke at all times of a possible arrival in 2024, but did not specify if it would be an early arrival for January as has been theorized in recent days or if they will have to wait until summer, which is when his contract with Chelsea ends, to incorporate the veteran defender who will be 40 years old when he is a free agent.
