Newcomer Gabriel Sara opened the scoring for Tricolor in the first half before Madson grabbed one back soon enough. Eight minutes later, Gabriel once again put his side in the lead going into the first half. It seemed as if São Paulo were going to claim a big win until Marinho struck late in extra time.
Another big talking point of the game was the fact that there was a 17-minute blackout in the second half.
In the second half, the power outage in Vila Belmiro stopped the game for 17 minutes.

In summary, the result means Tricolor missed a golden chance to go temporarily ahead of Internacional who play later on Sunday.
The draw takes Santos to 15 points and just one point below fourth-placed Palmeiras in the Brasileirão standings. São Paulo goes to 18 and loses the chance to match Inter’s score. The current leaders can further strengthen their gap at the top if they win Goais later on Sunday.
Elsewhere, the likes of Flamengo, Palmeiras and Atletico Mineiro can all overtake São Paulo after their fixtures as well provided they win.
Santos and São Paulo return for their next games in the Libertadores this mid-week. Peixe will host Olímpia this Tuesday, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in Vila Belmiro, for the third round of Group G. Tricolor will host River Plate on Thursday, at 7 pm, in Morumbi, for the third round of Group D.
