The Mancunians were trapped by a determined Turkish side, ultimately losing 3-2 in an electrifying match, and one of the main criticisms following that bitter defeat focused on Casemiro’s performance.
Casemiro under fire from critics
With a rating of only 4, he was one of the worst performing players on his team in this match. Only André Onana got an even lower score, with a measly 3.
The Manchester Evening News therefore commented harshly on Casemiro’s performance, noting: “ accurate pass for Marcus Rashford which resulted in the opening goal, but was often off pace and his inability to follow up cost United another goal. He was also sent off while trying to rectify Onana’s mistakes. ”
Manchester sinks in silence.
