According to latest reports, MLS side New York City FC are already closing in on a move for Brazilian teenage-sensation Talles Magno. The 18-year-old is expected to complete a move from Vasco da Gama.
Reports from the Brazilian media suggest that the youngster has already completed a deal in principle, with a five year-deal agreed with the MLS side owned by the City Football Group. Magno has also completed his medical and an official announcement is now imminent.
Moving on to financial details of the deal, the City Group are believed to have paid an initial amount of $8m. That amount will see City Group own 90 percent of the player’s economic rights. Vasco initially owned 75 per cent, with the rest owned by the player’s family. However, the bulk of the player’s rights now more or less become to City Football Group and the deal could also rise by another $4m, up to a total of $12m.
That fee will now see Magno become the most expensive signing in Vasco da Gama history. It would also see him become the second on the list for the most expensive player sold from the Brazilian Championship, only behind Brenner who joined FC Cincinnati from Sao Paulo. Coincidentally, Brenner is also the only Brazilian plying his trade in the MLS with a higher market value than Magno.

Magno is already believed to be playing well above his age although his swift rise to the top was halted by a foot injury he suffered back in February, alongside two incidences of Covid-19. So far, he has already shown his worth on the international scene, having already scored five goals in 10 games for the Brazil U-17 side.
