During his presentation in Curitiba, the player, who is from Petrópolis (RJ), in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro, arrived alongside Pedro and Gerson and thanked the coaching staff and the group of athletes for their warm welcome.
“This arrival was emotional. It’s a dream to wear the Brazilian National Team jersey, to represent my country. It’s been incredible to be with my teammates and the coaching staff; everyone has welcomed me very well. I am very happy and grateful to be in the Brazilian National Team,” celebrated the forward, who has been decisive for Botafogo this season.
So far, he has played 38 matches, scoring seven goals and providing four assists. The player is the main asset for the Rio club in individual plays that unbalance the opponent and create dangerous goal-scoring opportunities.
In great form, the 23-year-old forward promises commitment and dedication to leave a good impression and achieve victories for the National Team.
“The message I want to convey is that there will be no shortage of fight for us. We will fight until the end and, God willing, we will start with a victory and continue this journey very well. These will be very difficult matches, but we know our capabilities and what we can do. We will give our all to come out with victories in these two games,” he stated.
Revealed by Fluminense, where he played 118 matches, scoring 14 goals and providing 13 assists, he was signed by Betis in Spain in 2022 before joining Botafogo.
One of Luiz Henrique’s greatest supporters was his father, Luiz Carlos, who passed away in December 2022. Even without his daily presence, the forward made a point of honoring his father in the interview with CBF TV.
“Every player wants to be in the Brazilian National Team. I dedicate this moment to my father. He always wanted to see me play for the Brazilian National Team. He couldn’t, but I know that from above, he is with me. I managed to fulfill his dream; now it’s about staying focused and working hard,” he celebrated.
