It was a move that materialized quickly and the player himself even admitted to it during his presentation to the club.
His transfer was barely picked up by any media right up until the announcement by Botafogo.
Presented on Thursday, the 23-year-old now plans to up his game under the guidance of Renato Portaluppi. Gremio’s vice president of football, Paulo Luz, explained how glad they were to complete the signing.

Luiz Fernando himself also spoke on how quickly the deal materialized and how glad he was to join up with his new side.
“It was very fast, surprising and an immense joy when my manager called and said they were talking. I was very happy to be arriving at Grêmio, one of the biggest teams in Brazil. The structure left me satisfied, the club offers everything. Now, in the field, it is trying to work to help the team” said Luiz.
“Every time I enter the field, I will always give race and the will to win. And I will try to help my team to come out with the victory” he added.
The 23-year-old arrives at Grêmio as an alternative to either sides of the attack,
but can also be deployed as a central midfielder or center forward if needed.
In his time at Botafogo, Luiz Fernando featured 78 times, scoring eight goals and supplying one assist.
