Charismatic, smiling most of the time, and with potential worthy of defending the Brazilian National Team, Luciana is one of the four goalkeepers called up by coach Arthur Elias for the training period in Teresópolis – the others are Lorena, Tainá and Natacha. She will follow the group to France.

In these two weeks of preparation at Granja Comary, Luciana was highly demanded by the goalkeepers’ coaches – Edson Alcantara and Francisco Rodrigues. She delivered.

“We will arrive at the Olympics stronger. The work of the coaching staff has been well assimilated by all of us. We have the VAR here (actually, the tactical screen, a technological resource made available to the National Team for the first time) that allows us to pause the training sessions to make corrections, we have the technical videos, the field guidance from Arthur Elias. All of this in sync,” says the goalkeeper.

Luciana is among the substitutes, but she prepares with dedication not only for the eventuality of being called up, but with the purpose of being very well in all aspects to maintain the high level of the goalkeepers’ training.

About this new period of activities in Teresópolis, she praises the technical concentration of the CBF and the environment between athletes and the coaching staff.

“Here in our home there is peace, it’s all very rewarding. Seeing the group united in pursuit of the same goal is really cool. I am very confident that we will be successful in the Games.”

The athlete is one of those who remain on the field even when the training sessions are officially over. She likes to do this. “I’m always training a little more either on the field or in the gym when I have time off. That’s my way.”
