Lucas Veríssimo is not having the minutes he would like at Benfica in Portugal. This, added to the fact that he is an experienced central defender who knows the Brasileirão, made him a more than interesting signing for any club in Brazil. In fact, Corinthians was consulting the last transfer period since they had the intention that the former Santos be part of the squad but the negotiations did not come to fruition.

His representative expressed himself along these lines and was blunt regarding the opportunities that Brazilian teams may have: “The chances of returning are zero,” the player’s agent told the Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The player does not have the minutes he would like but his intention would be to continue his career in Europe. They have strong competition in the central defense as there are players of the stature of Nicolás Otamendi, who is also team captain, António Silva, who has been associated with several big teams in Europe, and Morato, who plays a second role in the squad.

Veríssimo has played just eight games this season counting all competitions and is seen as a replacement player in the Benfica squad. His agent is aware of this and perhaps they will look for a way out in the next transfer market that will make him play more matches.
