Venuto has had most of his career away from his home Brazil. In January 2014, he moved abroad and joined RB Leipzig’s under-19 side. In July, however, he joined FC Red Bull Salzburg and was assigned to the reserve team, FC Liefering.

Venuto then made his debut on 18 July, starting in an away defeat to TSV Hartberg for the Austrian Football Second League championship.

He scored his first senior goal on 29 August 2014 in a home routing of SV Horn.

On the 31st of January the next year, after scoring five goals, he was loaned to Austrian Football Bundesliga side SV Grödig for the remainder of the campaign.

In June, he signed a permanent contract with the latter side.

Venuto signed a contract in 2016 with FK Austria Wien until 2019. He then scored his first goal for Austria Wien on 23 April 2016, scoring the seventh in a massive away win over SV Mattersburg.

On the 25th of January 2019, Venuto was transferred to Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps FC, agreeing to a three-year contract. He made his debut in the MLS on the 2nd of March, playing the last 21 minutes in a 3–2 home loss against Minnesota United FC.

Lucas Venuto then returned to Brazil in 2019 to sign for Santos. He made his debut for the club on the 8th of September, replacing Jean Mota in a home draw against Athletico Paranaense.

However, he had little to play on the field as he played just five games, and made only one appearance in 2020.

He was loaned to Sport for the remainder of the season since he was ‘out of Santos’ plans and looking for regular game time with him having a contract that runs till 2022.
