The Europa League has already begun to define those classified for the next round of the continental tournament thanks to the results of this fifth round of the group stage. In the exciting Group A, Lucas Paquetá’s West Ham arrived with a clear objective: win against FK TSC to dream of finishing the date as sole leaders.
However, that did not depend 100% on them, since their main pursuer, Freiburg, had an accessible appointment against Olympiacos at the same time. Therefore, West Ham was obliged to win to continue depending on themselves and certify their passage to the next round as group leaders.

West Ham will defend the lead against Freiburg
Brazilian Lucas Paquetá was a starter in this key event in Serbia. Topolyai Sport Club arrived at the bottom of the group and without having achieved a single victory in the entire group stage, so victory seemed certain.
However, the Serbians would not make it easy for the English, since despite trying continuously, West Ham could not open the scoring. The Brazilian Lucas Paquetá was blocked by the TSC defense and in the first half he could only make one shot on goal, which went too high.
Already in the second half, the club led by David Moyes made several changes to try to find victory, but Lucas Paquetá remained during the 90′ minutes of the match. At around 72′, he made a shot that was blocked by the defense and the English team seemed helpless.
However, towards the final stages of the match, Czech midfielder Tomas Soucek managed to perfectly finish a cross sent by Cornet, thus signing the final 0-1.
With this victory, the English team has already certified its participation in the direct elimination phase of the UEL, but it could still finish first, thus obtaining a direct ticket to the round of 16, so the last match against Freiburg will be seen as a final for both sets.
