Lucas breaks a long fast
Lucas’ last goal was on August 24, in the 2-1 defeat to LDU, in Quito, in the Copa Sudamericana. Since then, the number 7 had participated in 14 matches in 2023, without any goals or any assists.
On Saturday night (20), Lucas scored São Paulo’s first goal from a penalty and assisted Luciano’s goal. Diego Costa scored the third, heading in a corner kick, while Ramalhão’s goal was scored by Cléo Silva.
São Paulo opened the scoring early on, following a penalty from Walce on Lucas. The number 7 himself went for the penalty and hit it hard, into the right corner. Goalkeeper Luiz Daniel hit the side, but was unable to reach the ball.
Santo André managed to react in the match and scored the equalizer in the 21st minute: a cross from Zé Mateus for Cléo Silva to head home. However, Tricolor soon reestablished itself in attack, creating good chances and returning to the lead at 38.
Lucas started in the middle and made a pass to Luciano, who hit it. The ball entered the top left corner of Luiz Daniel, who was unable to defend. The third happened at 41: Wellington Rato took an open corner from the left, and Diego Costa scored with a header.
