São Paulo would be about to hit another blow on the table in this transfer window. As reported by Globo Esporte, Lucas Moura would have already reached an agreement to return to the team after a decade in European football, where he shone with the colors of PSG and Tottenham.

In this way, the extreme veteran would join Alexandre Pato and James Rodríguez to the list of great reinforcements for the Tricolor in this market. The 30-year-old would arrive on a contract until the end of the year, as he would then evaluate pursuing his career in Major League Soccer.

Lucas Moura returns home

Coming out of the club’s lower divisions, Lucas Moura was promoted to São Paulo’s first team at just 18 years old and it didn’t take long for him to take off. It lasted just over two years until he left for Paris Saint-Germain in exchange for 40 million euros in 2013, after winning the Copa Sudamericana.

In total, he played 128 games and scored 33 goals before leaving for the Old Continent. The attacker then played several seasons at a high level with some unforgettable moments, such as his hat-trick against Ajax in the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League semi-finals with Tottenham.

Although he would have to get fit physically first, São Paulo’s idea would be to count on both him and James for the rematch against Corinthians in the Brazilian Cup semifinals. At the moment, neither Moura nor the Colombian will be able to register for the South American round of 16 series against San Lorenzo.
