Eight minutes into the first half, Barbosa made a pinpoint pass through Santa Cruz’s defense, setting up Erick Farias to secure the 1-0 victory.
“I’m very happy to debut in this shirt and to be able to help our team with an assist. I was very well received by everyone, I’ve been working well with the help of my teammates, so that ends up facilitating the performance,” said Barbosa.
At the Gaúcho team, Barbosa will daily interact with experienced midfielder Nenê, who joined the club last year, helped with the promotion to the first division, and is one of the great references of the Jaconero club.
“That pass for the goal reminded me a bit, right? (laughs). I hope to learn a lot from him; he’s an experienced player, has achieved a lot, and is highly admired around here. Today, upon arrival at the stadium, we saw how he was received… undoubtedly, a reference, and I hope to make the most of this experience. It’s a great honor,” Barbosa adds.
Lucas Barbosa was brought up by Santos and moved up to the professional team after standing out in the 2023 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior. For Alvinegro Praiano, he has already played in 65 games and scored seven goals. The 22-year-old midfielder also had a stint at Coritiba in Paraná.
