The Brazilian National Team is in the semifinals of the Paris 2024 Olympics. To overcome France on Saturday (3), Brazil required a lot of focus and effort. One of the standout players of the match was Lorena, who saved a penalty and consistently supported the team in their 1-0 victory over the hosts.

“Anyone who watched the game saw that we faced a great team, so we have to celebrate a lot because we won the Brazilian way. We managed to put everything Arthur told us into practice on the field. I am giving my all in every game. It was through grit; we committed ourselves from start to finish, so I am very happy, and the group deserves congratulations,” said the goalkeeper.

In 2023, Lorena missed the World Cup due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. During the Olympics, she demonstrated her faith and expressed her gratitude.

“I just want to thank God. If it weren’t for Him, I wouldn’t be here, and He has done many wonders in my life. I also want to thank my family, who must be watching me,” she said.

The goalkeeper emphasized that against France, the National Team showcased the Brazilian style of play. Additionally, she stated that they would soon begin preparations to face Spain in the semifinal.

“It’s all the result of hard work. Sometimes people don’t know what we are working on here. This is Brazil; this is our way of playing. There will be no lack of dedication, no lack of effort, and no lack of commitment for our next opponent because it’s a different game—it’s the semifinal, not the group stage anymore. Tomorrow we will already be thinking about Spain, and I am sure it will be a different game,” she concluded.

On Tuesday (6), the Brazilian National Team will face Spain in the semifinals of the Paris 2024 Olympics. The match kicks off at 4 PM (Brasília time) at the Marseille Stadium.
