With Inter’s victory over Milan 1-0 yesterday, who already had the 3-0 advantage, Inter took an important step on their way to a new Champions League, now they will have to wait for their rival as Manchester City and Real Madrid are defining who will face them in Istambul.
Lautaro Martínez scored at minute 74, erasing all the hopes remaining for the Milan fans of being able to reverse the story of the semifinal. In addition to the importance of that goal for Inter, the Argentine striker reached 10 goals in the Champions League, beating his teammate Romelu Lukaku, who has nine. That goal allowed the Argentine to reach Samuel Eto’o, who also has 10.

South Americans on top
The rest of the list is still somewhat far away and is full of South American names. The next step for Martínez to beat is his compatriot Hernán Crespo who has 11 goals while Julio Cruz has two more, with 13. Who heads the list is the Brazilian Adriano with 14 goals, Inter’s top scorer in the competition.
Inter managed to reach a Champions League final after several years of drought on the part of the Italian teams. The last team was Juventus in the 2016/17 season. The last Italian winner of the top European competition was in the 2009/10 season when José Mourinho’s Inter beat Bayern Munich 2-0.
