Inter raced off to winning ways in the Gaucho Championship with a 4-2 win over Ypiranga. Despite what the score-line may say, it was not a straightforward win and Colorado had to dig deep to take all three points.
One of the major talking points included the fact that Miguel Ángel Ramírez was still not allowed to officially coach on the bench.
In his absence , Inter played their first game with most of their regulars and claimed a victory on home turf.
Yuri Alberto got Inter off to a bright start, scoring after five minutes. Erechim’s team then levelled matters in the43rd minute following a goal from Cristiano .
Caprini completed the comeback for the away side after converting a penalty in the 50th minute.
Not long after, Zé Gabriel leveled for Inter after heading home from an Edenilson corner in the 65th minute.
Just when the game looked headed for a draw, Edenilson scored a penalty to give Inter the lead in the first minute of stoppage time. There was still time for Patrick to score one more and make it 4-2 on the evening.
A big positive was the return of Guerrero who was back on the pitch after 210 days out. It was his first game since he recovered from surgery on his right knee and took the captain’s armband from Edenilson in the 66th minute.
Ramirez caused a scene on the sidelines and even invaded the technical area. He ended up being charged by the match officials.
With the result, Inter are up to seven points and remain third in Gaucho. Ypiranga are level on the same points but are second place in the table, only two points behind table-toppers São Luiz.
In the next round, Inter will take on Novo Hamburgo while Ypiranga will welcome Juventude to their home turf. There is still no set date for both games.
