Appointed as two favorites before the start of the championship, Grêmio and Palmeiras have not yet taken off in the Brasileirão. And this can be explained by the large amount of draws of the two teams. Nobody has drawn more than the team from Rio Grande do Sul in the championship – there are already seven in total.

Gremio were on the front foot early on and took the game to their opponents.

They were all over Palmeiras in the early stages of the game and created early chances.

Imortal Tricolor continued to push for a goal and barely gave Palmeiras time to gather themselves on the ball before they collected it. Palmeiras were barely in the game but did manage to go close on goal as well but Gremio goalkeeper Vanderlei was up to it.

Second half started and Gremio kept pushing for a goal. Palmeiras made four changes in the second half that proved to be key. Against the run of play, Verdão scored in the 71st minute through Veiga.

It looked like Gremio were going to lose until the last minute of the game where Ferreira leveled matters to grab a point for his side.

Grêmio reaches 13 points and keeps skating in the middle of the table in 11th place. Palmeiras are in fourth place with 18 points but level on points with São Paulo in third place.

Both teams return to the field at midweek, for LibertadoresGrêmio faces the classic Gre-Nal, on Wednesday. On the same date and time, Palmeiras visits Guaraní-PAR.

For the Brasileirão, Grêmio visits the table-toppers Atlético-MG on Saturday and Palmeiras receives Flamengo on Sunday.
