PSG have confirmed that goalkeeper Keylor Navas has signed a contract extension with the club, with the Costa Rica international now expected to stay put in the French capital until 2024.
“We are delighted to extend Keylor Navas’ contract”
said club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. He is the greatest goalkeeper in the world, inspires great confidence in the team and our fans love him. He will be a decisive player in the big matches at the end of the season and in the years to come.”
Speaking on his new deal, Keylor Navas said, as quoted by the PSG official website: “Thank you very much! I’m very happy here. I thank god for enabling me to sign an extension at Paris Saint-Germain. The club believes in me and I’m delighted at that. I feel great at the moment. I’m trying to be as professional as I can. I take care of myself, I try to have a balanced diet. It helps me a lot. All of that has helped me stay at the top level and I hope it can stay that way for many more years.”
Ever since he moved to PSG, Keylor Navas has been nothing short of impressive and has barely put in a wrong foot at the club. He was also an integral part of the team that made it to the Champions League final against Bayern Munich last season.
This season, he showed his worth in the Champions League again after making a string of key saves to keep Bayern Munich at bay in the quarter-finals and help his side advance to the semis, where they will face Manchester City.
So far, Navas has made 72 total appearances for PSG, conceding only 54 times and keeping 36 clean sheets in the process.
