Newcastle cruised to a 6-1 crushing victory over Tottenham Hotspurs on Matchday 32 of the Premier League, where the Magpies put in a historic performance. From the second minute, the hosts took the lead thanks to a goal from Jacob Murphy after a fine move from Joelinton, who then scored himself in the sixth minute of play.
The goals were scored at a rapid pace which took Newcastle to a 5-0 lead in just 30 minutes of the game, while the Spurs put up a very poor performance.

Although the home side suffered a dip in intensity afterwards, their loss could have been even heavier had it not been for them. Joelinton was exceptional in this game, being a nightmare for the Spurs defense who failed to contain him throughout the 90 minutes.
The attacking midfielder, who arrived in Newcastle in July 2019 from Hoffenheim for 44 million euros, was important in this victory. Also, this season, he played 35 matches where he scored seven goals and provided three assists in all competitions.
Currently, Newcastle are in third place with 59 points, level with Manchester United who still have one game less.
On the other hand, Tottenham are in fifth place and are performing poorly this year. With an interim manager and several players in bad form, they already have their sights set on next season.
