Bad news for Newcastle a few days before challenging Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Brazilian striker Joelinton, returning from injury, saw his comeback come to a complete halt on Saturday when they hosted Burnley. Coming into play in the 86th minute when his team was already leading 2-0, the Brazilian only stayed on the pitch for four minutes before feeling pain in his hamstring.

A hard blow for both the player and his coach Eddie Howe, who was counting on Joelinton to bring his power in attack against the Parisian stars. “It’s a big blow for Joelinton, who was just returning from a knee injury. He was working hard to get back into rhythm, it’s frustrating to see him handicapped again by a muscle injury,” regretted the English technician.

Especially since Newcastle will already have to do without Sven Botman and Callum Wilson, also on the flank. Without three of its main offensive assets, the task looks complicated for the club from the North of England against the Parisian steamroller. Eddie Howe is now hoping for a quick return to form from Joelinton, in order to believe in his chances against the French title holder.
