Newcastle won against Chelsea yesterday (25), at St. James’ Park, by 4-1. One of the goals was scored by Brazilian player Joelinton after a mistake made by Thiago Silva.

The number 7 affirmed that the moment was a response to the red card he received against Argentina in Brazil’s 1-0 defeat at the Maracanã stadium in the South American Qualifiers.

“That goal was very important. I helped the team to beat a strong opponent, but I was also able to vent, vent my frustration due to the unfair red card in the game against Argentina.”

“It was a very important day for me and my family. My parents, wife and children traveled to experience this remarkable moment up close. And what happened, the way it happened, made me very upset. But it’s part of the profession. Thank God, I turned things around soon after and today I left the stadium very happy, as did my family and all the Newcastle fans. I was very upset,” he said after the match.

Newcastle are now in 6th place in the Premier League, with 23 points.
